Focusing on centuries of Gin making in Ireland, Killowen Distillery place seasonal botanicals to the fore, many of which are handpicked from the immediate locality. The result is an unusual, aromatic gin celebrating its maritime and highland environment within the Mourne Mountains.
Juniper, angelica root, lemon zest, rosehip, mint leaf, elderberry and meadowsweet.

About the Distiller
Gin is one of Ireland's less well-known native spirits is documented in records dating back to the 16th,17th & 18th centuries. The Irish where distilling and compounding native botanicals long before their neighbouring counterparts in the British Isles.
When Brendan Carty founded Killowen distillery he wanted to replicate the production method of Ireland's gin production from centuries before. His two stills are made from hand beaten copper. Built in a converted barn in the Irish countryside this distillery really is using a 'back to the future' strategy.
